Active Grafix, a large-format print house in Mesa, Arizona, uses Mutoh ValueJets to design, create and install a variety of applications including vehicle wraps, POP displays and wall and window coverings.
Owner, Colin Davis, started Active Grafix with a vision of a print house that could handle both offset printing and the high demand of wide-format printing. Becoming a multipurpose print shop has opened the door to many types of print jobs.
Active Grafix recently installed window graphics on the front windows of the Chandler Center for the Arts in Chandler, Arizona. Davis used his Mutoh ValueJet 1614 printer and 3M Ij66 perforated Window film to create the five 71” x 125” windows.
“Running a Mutoh ValueJet 1614 was the best decision I ever made. It is fast, reliable, outputs great consistent color and the i² weave printing technology illuminates any worry of banding on any material. I love that I can switch materials from banner, to intermediate vinyl, to vehicle wrap vinyl and back again and have consistent color all the way through.
Among his many wrap jobs, Davis completed a project for Rigid Industries, which involved designing, printing and installing the vehicle wrap for a Chevy Silverado that was shown at the SEMA Show 2011. Rigid Industries displayed their newly wrapped truck in their booth and was voted “Best New Truck” from General Motors. This was the first time the awards has ever been given to a truck that was wrapped. After SEMA, Davis completed Rigid’s campaign by wrapping an additional three Baja race cars with the same design.
